Select Hotel Silence Garden Köln

We've stayed in this hotel twice now, once for 2 nights, and most recently, 5 nights. Whilst only 3 stars, it has everything you need for a casual stay in Germany. The room comes equipped with a TV, kettle/coffee and a shower pressure to die for! Parking is unfortunately limited, so you might struggle to find a spot late in the evening during busy periods. The surrounding area is quiet, and you could probably park in the vicinity without worry. The hotel staff are super friendly. Hotel rooms are cleaned daily and we have no complaints about cleanliness. Breakfasts are typical German, plenty of meats, cheeses and brötchen. Brück is a really nice turn with plenty of options for food (we recommend Holi and La Vecchia Trattoria). Whenever we next return to Cologne, we'll look at staying here again.

Very friendly staff , they spoke good English . German Breakfast was nice and staff were on hand to make sure everything was in order . Bedroom was clean and whole experience was very good value for money and would stay again if in köln.

I was about to cancel the reservation after I have read the comments here. I am happy I didn't do it! Probably people who rate bad this hotel they really didn't travel much in their lives. Now about the hotel: Indeed the furniture and doors are not new, but you can live without that or please choose another hotel. The rooms and bathroom were CLEAN. Old but clean. The sheets and towels were clean as well. No dust in the room. Someone in a review said they saw a bug in the bathroom. I have seen a small silverfish and nothing else, so probably that was about. The heating was working. The bed was really comfortable! Nobody entered in our room in all 3 days because we always left the do not disturb note outside on the door knob. Nobody was asking or pushing us to go out at an earlier time and we left at 12:00. There is a kettle, tea, instant coffee in the room. I was afraid for the noise but actually there was none, it was really silent (I was worried about noise as I have issues with my sleep). The Wifi was functional all the 3 days (we had the room at 1st floor)! The breakfast has everything you need and the food is fresh. There are boiled eggs, cheese and sliced meats, vegetables, cereals, yogurts, fruits, fresh buns. Coffee, tea, etc. When you don't find parking, no problem, all the small streets around have enough space and it's free. The distance to the city center is 19km and you are there in 15-20 min by car.

Excellent breakfast Quick and easy to catch the train to downtown Cologne.

It was in a great location for visiting the Christmas markets, as very close to public transport and had parking. Breakfast was continental and had plenty of choice. Staff spoke enough English to get by and were helpful.
